Lentil Patties Recipe

Ingredients:
 • 2 cups red lentils, rinsed and soaked
 • 1 onion, roughly chopped
 • 1 carrot, peeled and roughly chopped
 • 2 cloves garlic
 • A small bunch of cilantro, roughly chopped
 • 1 teaspoon black pepper
 • 1 teaspoon cumin
 • 1 teaspoon organic turmeric
 • 1 teaspoon salt
 • Oil for frying

Instructions:

 1. Prepare the Lentils:
 • Rinse the red lentils thoroughly and soak them in water for at least 1 hour. Drain well before using.
 2. Combine Ingredients:
 • Add the soaked and drained lentils, chopped onion, carrot, garlic, cilantro, black pepper, cumin, turmeric, and salt to a food processor.
 3. Process the Mixture:
 • Pulse the mixture in the food processor until it forms a coarse, but well-combined mixture. You want it to hold together but still have some texture.
 4. Shape the Patties:
 • Using your hands, shape the mixture into small patties. You can make them as large or small as you prefer, but 2-3 inches in diameter is a good size.
 5. Fry the Patties:
 • Heat a few tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the patties in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
 • Fry the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
 6. Drain and Serve
 • Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or as a part of a meal.
Enjoy!
